Dismissal should never be your diagnosis

ABOUT

I treat the perimenopause and menopause your last clinician didn’t

I came to medicine the long way. Through a household that didn't trust it. That history is why I can hear what’s underneath the question “is this safe?” and answer it the way you actually deserve to be answered.

I take both your symptoms and your skepticism seriously.

somebody should have told you this sooner

You haven't slept through the night in months. Your last appointment ended with a shrug and a low-dose Zoloft script. You've tried the supplements, the hormone panels, Pilates, every app that promised to fix it.

None of it worked, because none of it would. What you're experiencing has a name. There's real, evidence-based treatment for it. You just haven't been offered it yet.

IF YOUR DOCTOR EVER TOLD YOU TO DRINK MORE WATER AND GET BACK TO YOGA, YOUR DOCTOR FAILED YOU.

Most clinicians get fewer than two hours of menopause training in their entire medical education. That isn't your fault, but it has become your problem. You've been told to track your sleep, manage your stress, cut the wine, and come back in six months.

  • You're not stressed. Your estrogen is in complete chaos. Your progesterone is MIA. Your nights are broken, and your nervous system is running without a thermostat. Stress is a downstream effect. Not the diagnosis.

  • Perimenopause begins on average four to seven years before your final period. For some people, it can show up a decade earlier. If you're between 38 and 55 and something's changed, your hormones are likely part of the story.

  • Untreated perimenopause does not end well. Bone loss accelerates. Cardiovascular risk climbs. Cognition takes a measurable hit. Pushing through is not a treatment plan.

But it doesn't have to keep going like this.
